Say A Prayer for Mr. Big Red

Postby Mr. Midnight's Mom » Mon Mar 08, 2010 8:57 pm

The old boy is not feeling very perky today :( Dr. Uncle Woody came and tubed/oiled him and gave him a shot of banamine - he and HIS babysitter, MM, are spending the night in the barn. I'll check on him tonight.

Say a little prayer for this sweet boy.

9 pm - no poop - but he had eaten his hay and was interested in carrots. MM is not amused at being a babysitter - told the goofball to get over it - he owed Mr. Big Red - big time for all the babysitting Red did for him!

almost 11 pm - WE HAVE POOP!! and Mr. Big Red is more bright-eyed and doing his customary head nod up and down to greet me. Gave him half an apple - he enjoyed that!

MM got the other half - course he was sacked out in the shavings - looks like he was in a snow globe -

My boys are so cute! :D

big old red head hanging out the stall door this am doing its customary big nod up and down - bright eyes

duckling still looking like a snow globe figurine - fed them - Big Red got half rations (tried some butter milk - he said NO!) so will get him on the succeed....sigh

took Lucy's special food w/buttermilk out to her - hay to comet and princess - dropped hay for the boys

Big Red REALLY nodding up and down when I got back - hitched him up first - MM was non plussed - not sure he like Mr. BIg Red outside his stall door - eventually got the suitcase in the halter and led them out

VERY happy to see a spring in the old guy's step - he kept up with the dancing chubby guy - turned him loose first - he went to MM's hay - RUH ROH - turned MM loose - Big Red kicked up his heels at MM and cantered off to his own hay.

SOOOO - we're back to normal :D

Great to hear that Mr. BR is feeling might fine. MM was a good boy for watching over him, and it should be so duly noted.
