GRRRR, This BOZO has sponsored the following bill

HCR 47 (BR 227) - J. Bell

Urge members of Congress to oppose legislation that interferes with states' abilities to direct the transport or processing of horses and to support horse processing facilities.

Jan 11-introduced in House
Jan 13-to Agriculture & Small Business (H)

We need to write this guy and tell him what we think about his desire to get congress off the states backs regarding SLAUGHTER. It is no surprise he is on the AGRICULTURE committee where they still think horses are livestock!

A horrific bill has been introduced in the Illinois Assembly that, according to the proposed legislation, "Repeals a provision that prohibits the slaughter of horses for human consumption." The bill also includes the following language: "Deletes a provision in the definition of the term "livestock" that excludes "horses, mules, or other equidae to be used in and for the preparation of meat or meat products for consumption by human beings," and "Allows equidae more than 12 months of age to enter the State for immediate slaughter without a certificate of veterinary inspection."

HB4812, the Horse Slaughter Bill, is going to be heard tomorrow, Tuesday Feb. 16th, at 2:00PM in the Agriculture & Conservation Committee. If you live in Illinois and can speak against the bill at the hearing, here is the address: Capitol Building, Room 122B Springfield, IL

· We need everyone to call the members of the Committee and ask that they vote against it.

PLEASE CALL AND FAX TODAY AND TOMORROW!

This article is totally appalling. All because of money and her having to make a business out of it.

The following appeared on Boston.com:
Headline: Not all the pretty horses come home
Date: Mar 8, 2010

"VASSALBORO, Maine - Spread over a couple of hundred acres here, a bucolic mix of pasture and woodland forms a picturesque home for a century-old family business that provides horses and saddlery to families, summer camps, and riding schools."
