I believe one spent the weekend though - and spent a lot of time with Bluff.

Edie - what was that flooring you said Barbara used? I thought it was the one I just posted - but it's not

if you're able to read this that is - thanks!

Is this the flooring that Rowdy recommended? ...on one of her threads.

Thanks Lori - I'll have to go hunt it up - Hopefully when the specialist is there tomorrow - we can get confirmation that he is better. Prayers do work - and are powerful. This boy has been through so much, I can't tell you how it hurt me to see him hurting. He kept biting my boots, trying to tell me his feet hurt, I guess. I have been totally beside myself since then. Worried sick.

Thankfully, Woody asked that one person be in charge of his care, and that since Woody got on the case on Tuesday and with one person in charge of him - things seem to be improving. Prayers continue. Candles lit.

Morning prayer

May Bluff improve and the pain subside. May he move freely and embrace his warrior spirit once again. We pray for healing. Amen

We use StableComfort, as recommended by several vets. It has been AWESOME!!! Our vet and the surgeon both think it has contributed to Wind Dancer's recovery that exceeds all expectations, and it has allowed our 20 year old Hackney Pony mare to finally rest peacefully in a stall. In fact, all my horses are inside now due to rainstorms, and when I left the barn a few minutes ago, they were all laying down for morning naps! :D

Bluff's gonna be ok...Its so hard to watch them when the inflammation is acute, but it gets better. Apache has been through it 3 times, despite me being very careful with him. Each time, I think " this is it" and each time he defies my thoughts. He just got over another abscess in his hind foot. I guess they go hand in hand with laminitis, since this is his third since Christmas. I got it to open finally at the coronet band last week. Today he's out fighting with Casper. He planted both back feet squarely in Casper's chest (Casper deserved it!) and trotted off triumphant with as much dignity as a pony can have trying to win a fight with a grazing muzzle on. Casper left him alone after that! Point is, Apache's feet feel well enough to let him plant his hind ones on Casper. Positive thoughts for Bluff...

Thank you for the link, Barbara!

Beth - we are praying so - he is a strong horse, that is for sure.

You are quite welcome. I thought the stall mats were very expensive at first, but they have more than payed for themselves in savings on bedding and, more importantly, comfort to our horses.

It is so heartbreaking to see how sad Bluff looks in those pictures. Remember how happy he was when you first got him Penny? Remember how he could and would actually "thunder across the fields to come and see YOU!"
